President Obama In Afghanistan

QUOTATION OF THE DAY BY THE NEW YORK TIMES
"We've traveled through more than a decade under the dark cloud of war. Yet here, in the pre-dawn darkness of Afghanistan, we can see the light of new day on the horizon."
PRESIDENT OBAMA, in an address from a military base near Kabul, Afghanistan.

Concerning politics I’m always sceptical if words sound too flowery. What kind of light is he seeing? The Taliban are as active as ever. There is no success in this war. This war in Afghanistan has been a needless, senseless venture from the very beginning. The war will continue. But maybe the light he sees is his re-election.
I am a bit; no I’m very much disappointed: Afghanistan, Guantanamo, environment issues not handled well by President Obama. Don’t get me wrong, the Republicans who showed up as candidates would have done even worse. I’d like a stronger US in world politics, but that would need clear ideas and not flowery words.
