Weather today

“Oh the weather outside is frightful”

There are lots of hints that global weather changes are already happening. Global warming means more water evaporating from oceans and therefore we have more rain and snow. Right now it’s snowing in Cologne. We didn’t have a white Christmas, but we’ll enjoy a white Easter.

The arctic sea around the North Pole has less and less ice during the summer months. That could be crucial for Europe as it means that some when the Gulf Stream might be stopped coming to Europe. Cologne is as high up on the map as Newfoundland or Sakhalin, both locations with harsh winters.

So here they are. Pictures of today’s weather.

Around 10:00 a.m. in Cologne, where I live

Around 01:45 p.m. in the yard of our hospital in Meerbusch - even the rabbits are used to the weather now and won't dash away!

This is Easter Sunday, also around 01:45 p.m. - leaving the Autobahn

Around 01:45 p.m. in the yard of our hospital in Meerbusch

Translation:
Snow woman
On the spring wind
Hare

I'm not sure that the Japanese Haiku works out, but I've written it on the occasion of the second picture.
