Still Summer – Haiku

Into the morning
The grey heron sails calmly
Have to drop the mail

Rising summer moon
Reflections on ripples
Birds do not disturb

Sun and blue sky
Surf and lying on warm sand
Cry of a sea gull

In the summer trees
The wind is playing a song
An autumnal tune

A flock of pidgeons
Landing on the harvested field
Rain’s sorrowful tune

The air is still warm
Dark, grey clouds spanning above
Happy traffic lights

First day without heat
Ding dong ding dong
The iceman still comes
