Haiku for the New Year to Start

Leaves fall silently
Just enough sound
To let you know

木の葉散るほどの音もて傳へけ
Konoha tiru hodo no oto mote
tutae keri

Let it bleed
Drop by drop
Until the music stops

Cascades of white water
Running over black basalt
A heli circles

The cold is gripping
Old calendar in the coat
And the sun is late

After 60 years
Still feeling
Like a puppy

Cold sun
The snowdrops
Listen to her song

Scattered snow flakes
On a dried out riverbed
Birds leave for the coast
